Micromelon Education

Micromelon Education

From our early days of teaching robotics at university, we have become experienced teachers, mentors and project leaders in education. We believe that education can be designed differently in the act of collaboratively building cool stuff.

Whether we are running student workshops, delivering professional development for teachers or consulting to systems of schools on how to best implement STEM, build real-world assessments or design project based learning, we integrate the hard skills of robotics and engineering whilst infusing dispositions to help students succeed in whatever career they choose. We use creativity, imagination, collaboration, curiosity, and an unending sense of inquiry to make teaching and learning fun, engaging and energising for both student and teacher.

Micromelon Platform

The Micromelon Platform provides both an easy way to get started with programming in blocks, but also a high ceiling of possibilities for advanced students. The Micromelon Rover provides all the sensors required to take part in a range of challenges including robotics competitions. The Code Editor provides an easy way to program in both Blocks and Python code and with the Micromelon Simulator students can program from home, in their own time as well as complete advanced challenges with no setup time.

Micromelon Rover

A compact & tough robot which come packed with sensors & expansion options. Suitable and proven all the way from primary school to university.

Micromelon Simulator

Our virtual world for simulating the rover and classroom activities. The simulator is a great tool for remote learning, homework, and experimentation.

Code Editor

The software used to program the rover and simulator. Write blocks and Python code simultaneously. Teachers can remotely disable rovers, see code, and much more.

Our Programs

Micromelon runs a range of programs in topics around robotics, engineering, advanced manufacturing and more. Each program is tailored to the students in the room, and can be customised to exactly what you are looking for.

After School Robotics Programs

After school robotics programs are a great way to get students involved with technology and robotics, especially if robotics isn't already a part of their studies.

Bots & Beers - Adult Robotics

Why should kids get to have all the fun? Adult robotics programs are a great way to engage parents, alumni and industry to discover what students are working on in the realms of technology, robotics, engineering and even 3D printing.

Engineer In Residence

Engineer in residence programs allow students to engage with a Micromelon engineer to work along side them, explore ideas and develop solutions for problems within the school or abroad.

Robotics Incursions

Students can explore robotics and programming in the Micromelon Code Editor and put their knowledge to the test with challenges and activities designed to cover everything from the basics of programming to the world of 3D printing and design.

3D Printing Training & Support

We can also help develop programs and lessons to help your students learn about 3D design, printing and even how to integrate 3D printing into your existing programs. We can also provide 3D printing maintenance and support.

Professional Development

Our hands on professional development sessions can be a great way for teachers to get started with teaching programming. From blocks to Python and beyond, our instructors come from an engineering background and can help integrate technology into the classroom.
